Knowing that Ervinton lost a lot, and their coach (who while I think he was sometimes overwhelmed seemed like a nice guy and got the kids to play hard for him), I wonder how they handle a downward tick.
SP was pretty young. Beat Ervinton, but lost to CW and RC. Like you said, Ervinton lost a lot. CW lost quite a few, but they have some talent returning if I am not mistaken. Scammell done a very nice job with them last year, and maybe some continuity will help considering the overturn at Castlewood in football coaches.
RC also lost another key coach IMO. He is just wanting to get away from coaching to spend time with his family, but will be greatly missed. I wonder what RC's defense will be like without him this coming season.

What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
Coeburn goes 6-4 or 5-5
Reeking of awesomeness!
All I have heard at this point would be as follows:
Clintwood
Grundy
Twin Valley
Honaker
Ervinton
Hurley
JJ Kelly
Lee High
Still looking for two games...not sure why Rye Cove is not on the schedule yet. Other rumored possibilities include Tazewell and some Pike County school...maybe Pike Central or Paintsville? They played two out of state games last year(LCC & Betsy Layne)...both of which dropped Haysi for this year to my understanding. So they will probably only be playing one out of state game in '07, if any at all.
Thanks for the update I hope Haysi is able to fill out the rest of there scedule soon
Rye Cove picked up Sullivan North instead this season. Shorter trip, possibly a bigger gate, and a good points opportunity since North should be considered D3 in VA. That is the reasons I suspect RC dropped Haysi at least.

Haysi had the opportunity to play PV before PV picked up Thomas Walker at the last minute...may turn into a big ol road trip for haysi
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
I hadn't thought about that, but I knew Phil was trying to find someone. I guess he did extend the opportunity to Haysi.

Yeah right...lol...from all the grumbling when TW signed on, there was word that Haysi was offered...Look at Haysi's schedule...how bad do you think they want to play high caliber teams...all I see on there is Clintwood and Honaker.

Haysi will never play the big dogs of the LPD except their county foes, never have never will. It has to be a have to case, in the playoffs. Then when they have their best team in a decade and an LPD School has an avg team, you'd think they'd won the SuperBowl when they win. I have no respect for Haysi's football program at all, maybe if they'd beef up the ol schedule they could advance farther in the playoffs.
